Phoenix Golf Gold and Country Club Pattaya CEO Chanya Sawangchitr takes a position as the president of the Thai Women’s Professional Golf Association established to support and promote Thai women’s golf activities and tournaments to the global arena.

Thai WPGA has already registered with the Sports Authority of Thailand, as the registrar of sports associations in Bangkok and is now authorized to undergo sporting activities.

The main objective of Thai WPGA is to support and develop professional female golfers in Thailand through its tournaments. With world ranking points to be awarded to players competing in the Thai WPGA Tour, more Thais are expected to emerge in the global stage in the near future.

As for Mrs. Chanya, she has always been a successful figure in business. As the CEO of Phoenix Golf Gold and Country Club, Mrs. Chanya has organized a host of internationally acclaimed events including the King’s Cup, Queen’s Cup, Royal Cup and Ladies European Tour Thailand Championship. She has remained an enthusiast in local golf circles and has a determination to improve the standard of Thai golf.

Apart from golf business, Mrs. Chanya has also run leading businesses such as P. Overseas Steel Public Company Limited. Originally known as ““Sanguan Charoen Metal”, the company was found in 1987 in Daokanong. The original business involved selling of construction materials and metals. Later, the company has expanded more businesses and become the distributor of construction rebar, cement, ready mixed concrete under its new name as P. Overseas Steel. It has constantly supplied steels to numerous main construction projects ever since.

The Thai Women’s Professional Golf Association will hold a press conference to make its official public introduction on Friday 19, February 2021 between 11am – 12pm at 98 Wireless Condominium Complex.
